Introducing Our Cautionary Canadian Critic

Updated: Dec 9, 2019

How many times do you read an article about technology and wonder what to believe? How much is hype and how much is real? This week we introduce our Cautionary Canadian Critic. With more than 35 years experience in the technology world, from architect to design to consulting on difficult issues, Alan Smithers, Chordia Consulting Associate (and, of course, Canadian), brings his expertise and keen analytical mind to bear on current articles about today's technology issues. We've asked him to read an article every week (or so) and tell us what he thinks is real and what needs a little extra scrutiny; in short, to give us his opinion about where to be just a little cautionary. We hope you find his writing interesting and provocative. You can find his first blog here.

We look forward to your comments.

I agree. The devil is in the details. One additional point on cost in cloud is sometimes TCO on cloud and SaaS subscription costs can be higher over time vs. permanent licensing and owned hardware.

Good article!
