Albert L. Swett, Principal
Al has more than 20 years of experience in IT consulting and has worked with for-profit and not-for-profit clients in many industries, both in the United States and internationally. He is effective at guiding all levels of IT leadership through analysis and priority-setting for strategic and tactical IT management improvement options. He is an expert executive facilitator and is certified in the Helix “sticky card” methodology. Al has project experience in many industries including insurance, distribution, financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing.
While at IBM, Al developed analysis models and tools to help IT management visually locate problems and used these tools directly with customers as well as teaching other IBM consultants how to use them. He is the primary patent-holder for the Component Assessment Advisor, the tool used for component business model IT management analysis. He is also the creator of the Optimization Value Estimator, a tool-based approach for rapidly identifying and quantifying IT improvement and savings opportunities. Prior to his time as a consultant, Al had a number of assignments in sales, IT strategy, and product marketing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College and an MBA from Columbia University.
David E. Wright, Principal
David Wright has over 20 years of experience in IT management consulting, helping clients around the world to develop the strategic direction for their organizations and to translate this into actionable plans and roadmaps. This has involved roles with PwC, Oracle, and most recently, IBM, where he led a global consulting organization with teams in all major geographies. Prior to this he was an IT manager in a commercial organization. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Manchester, England.
During his consulting career, he has undertaken a wide range of engagements, specializing in IT strategy formulation, management and transformation of IT organizations, improving IT effectiveness and efficiency, and the planning and direction of global IT programs. He has experience in multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, retail, and financial services.
